Meet Wheeze & Hendy
We’re Wheeze and Hendy, the husband-and-wife team behind Lawton Links, where we live and work alongside our two wee ones Finn and Ola.
After spending 10 years living in Australia, we returned home to our family farm in rural Perthshire in 2022 and began looking for ways to diversify while sharing this very special part of the countryside with others.
The farm has been in Hendy’s family for more than 400 years and is still actively farmed today. When we discovered a quiet, secluded spot overlooking the River Isla, with uninterrupted views towards the Perthshire Highlands, it felt like the perfect place to create something new.
Our time in Australia had introduced us to some incredible places to stay, and we wanted to bring a little of that relaxed, design-led approach back to Scotland. That idea became Milkwood and Fairlight: two individual cabins designed for slowing down, switching off and making the most of the landscape around them.
Wheeze designed each cabin in their entirety, drawing on a love of colour, pattern, art, travel and collected pieces to create two spaces that feel warm, individual and full of character. While Hendy was keen for guests to experience the character of a working organic farm, whether that means waking to the sight of cattle grazing nearby or watching the countryside from the comfort of an outdoor bath.
Together, this connection to the land and attention to design have shaped the experience of staying at Lawton Links.
Lawton Links has since grown to include Links Farmhouse, a spacious five-bedroom home overlooking the River Isla, a little further upstream from the cabins. Created for family gatherings and relaxed weekends with friends, the farmhouse gave Wheeze the opportunity to work on a larger scale and flex her interior design skills, resulting in a unique and inviting home that feels both beautifully considered and completely relaxed.
Although each property has its own feel, they all share the same aim: to offer thoughtful, comfortable and characterful places with mother nature at the heart, where guests can properly relax and unwind. For us, Lawton Links is much more than somewhere to stay. It is our home, our family farm and a landscape we feel incredibly lucky to share.
